Description

DOUXBARBU is a family breeding of the French water dog, better known as the Barbet.

Our dogs are Canadian champions at both the Canadian Kennel Club and the Canadian Kennel Club.

Particularities

The mission
Élevage Douxbarbu has two main missions:

1) To make known the Barbet breed, very old and unknown by many.
2) Reproduce healthy Barbets that meet the current standard in order to perpetuate and honour the breed.

The vision

In a family environment that respects the animal, Élevage Douxbarbu aims to apply the best breeding choices based on a serious analysis of dog genetics. To do this, we use the tools provided by advances in genetic science and available databases on health, phenotype (what we see) and genotype (what the genes hide) of barbet.
