Basenji Josabry Breeder

Description

History

Basenji is a canine breed originating from Central Africa, and more especially from Congo. It takes its name from a pejorative Bantu word meaning "indigenous", "wild" or "primitive",. It is also sometimes called a Nyam-Nyam terrier or a Congo terrier. It is one of the only domestic dogs that does not descend from wolves. We assume he's descended from the jackal.

Basenji is a very old breed, which has existed for thousands of years, even before Cleopatra. Representations of a dog resembling him have been found in several pharaohs' tombs. It seems that this breed only arrived in Europe in the 20th century.

Use :

Hunting dog, companion dog, here he is one of the hounds (race dogs).

In Africa it hunts and lives in packs, it is able to hunt poultry, and also antelopes.

Character :

Don't bark but don't be dumb. His cry, which is very particular to him, comes from the giggling and vocalizations of Tyrolean singers. Remarkable for its cleanliness in every respect. Intelligent, independent but affectionate and active. Can be distant from strangers.

Another characteristic, the female basenji is in heat only once a year (compared to twice a year for most other breeds of dogs) and always in the fall, except except for the puppies are always available either in February or March.

He also has some similarities with the cat since he generally avoids contact with water and cleans himself by licking himself for a long time. In addition, he does not like draughts and wind, he likes heights, he is very good at climbing, he is a very curious dog.

Independent but nevertheless very affectionate, Rather restless, he can adapt to a life in an apartment, but only if he is allowed to exercise very regularly

This breed is not allowed to be free unless it is well obeyed and controlled.

When buying one of our Puppies: the customer must leave here satisfied with his baby. We will never let a customer leave with one of our puppies if he does not like it, or if he does not find it to his liking, even if it has been booked in advance.

All our puppies are sold: registered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed, and accompanied by a health notebook signed by a veterinarian.

We give a guarantee: written of 3 years of age, on any so-called hereditary problems (hips, elbows, eyes, etc.) and for Basenji ( Eyes and Fanconni syndrome) also congenital (heart, liver, kidneys, lungs, etc.) Unlike the very large majority of breeders, to have another puppy the customer has no monetary cost and the replacement pup has the same guarantee as the previous one.

Both parties: have a contract to sign in duplicate as well as a non-reproduction contract with the Canadian Kennel Club, in order to protect the purity of the breed.

We give the buyer: a binder containing all the information and advice he will need to educate and care for his puppy. As well as the pedegree (family tree) of 5 generations with the registration of certifications to the O.F.A. or the O.V.C. of the whole relative.

Tips such as: the first night, cleanliness, food, games and toys, pshychological and physical health for proper development, what to do and not to do with your puppy, how to play with your puppy, the use of the crate and many other things.

If the client wishes: we will provide him with a good veterinary clinic and a good training school depending on the area where he lives.

Customers can contact us at any time for further advice on training and educating their puppy, remember that I have over 35 years of experience in the canine field and have covered almost every area ( training, obedience, agility, conformation, protection, tracking. ) and that I also gave courses, and I followed 3 years of Cyno Professionnel course in St-Hyachinte.
