Particularities
Originally from Baie-Comeau, it was in high school that I discovered my passion for photography. I didn't know what to do with my life and I didn't want to choose a profession for the money. I wanted to do what I loved and be happy.
What made me happy was first and foremost the animals, all the animals. I could have been a veterinarian or a canine educator... But I was also an artist and so I chose the profession of photographer.
It was in 2014, at the age of 18, that I left Baie-Comeau to live in the great city of Quebec City, where I would eventually take my course to do the job of my dreams. A few months later, I enrolled at the Centre de Formation Professionnelle Maurice-Barbeau in photography, then a few more months and I was there!
After two years of intensive study and hard work, I graduated and officially became a professional photographer.
Since then, I have worked a lot with animals, acquired a lot of knowledge in dog training, harnessed dog sports and adopted 3 dogs myself. So I put aside, over time, everything that wasn't animal photography to focus solely on it for myself and for your four-legged loves.
Having long wanted to be a war photographer after my training, I made the big decision in 2018 to join the Canadian Armed Forces as a photographer. So today I am a military photographer during the week, an animal photographer outside and also a Canicross runner with my dogs.
We can say that Jessica Blackburn Photographer is a passion, become a dream, become reality
